    Roll Call
Why am I asking you questions?
From what I hear, you love our food blog, which is an amazing compliment. We started it purely for our own entertainment, to document our eating experiences and capture our love of food. Plus, I feel like we've bonded over our love of eggs. I'll forever be grateful for your perfect hard-boiled egg with soy sauce recipe. I swear on my life, I am making one as I type this.

What does Soul Food mean to you?
Soul Food is food that's worthy of a little dance. People have pointed out that when I'm excited about an upcoming meal, as soon as it's placed in front of me, I do this cute little bouncy-chair jig. It's totally subconscious and as I describe it in words, quite embarrassing. I figure anything that elicits a dance-like response is good for my soul.

If you could create any food and music experience what would it be?
An outdoor picnic featuring a long table of my favourite foods - korean galbi ribs, salmon nigiri, spicy mac n' cheese, Terroni pizza with cool pitchers of lemonade - accompanied by a Native Tongues reunion performance (A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, Leaders of the New School, Black Sheep, Monie Love and Queen Latifah) at some awesome outdoor venue. Oh, and while we're at it, the weather should be perfect too - sunny with a cool breeze. Jonathan Ramos - make it happen!

    Kosher or Sea Salt?
Kosher salt all the way. Now and then I break out the fleur de sel, when I remember I own some.

    Wine or Cocktails?
Right now cockails. I'm trying to learn more about wine, but right now I'm stuck on Pim's Cup, or my favourite - cranberry, pineapple and soda with vodka.

    Prosciutto or Spam?
Proscuitto all the way. However, when I was in Hawaii way back when, I was intrigued that the locals ate Spam Sushi. (It's just as you'd picture, a slice of Spam laid on rice to make nigiri) Clearly Spam's not getting the respect it deserves here in North America.

Who is your favorite Iron Chef?
Masaharu Morimoto. So much so that when I went to Philly I made sure to stop at his restaurant and eat at the sushi bar. Alas, the infamous Iron Chef himself was not there. Boo.

What is your favorite thing to smoke?
Hmmm, I don't smoke many things, but I am in love with smoked salmon.

What is your favorite music to listen to while cooking, after Soul Food of course?
Anything upbeat that doesn't require too much attention. I save the thoughtful lyrics for ipod listens. When I'm cooking, I want something that's going to compliment

Top 3 food experiences after Nyood, Kultura and Madras Pantry of course?
Sitting at the sushi bar at Sushi Yasuda in New York City
Pizza and pasta with friends at Terroni
Eating my way through Buenos Aires (Peruvian-Japanese, Brazilian-Thai, Scandanavian, plus beef, beef and more beef). It's heaven on earth 'cause fine dining is about $20/person.
