What do you do to pay the rent?
    Manage BergHOFF Canada

Why am I asking you questions?
We have a relationship through the launch of our Earthchef brand endorsed by Roger Mooking. BergHOFF Canada and Roger have a very similar outlook on the importance of food and music in our everyday lifestyles. On top of that, we both believe in supporting our environment.

What does Soul Food mean to you?
It is a symbol of the marriage between lifestyle and food. It represents company, entertaining, people coming together and enjoying great food and drink, while having a great time. Music can influence the art of food, and the reverse is true as well. As for the CD itself, if I recall correctly, the packaging of the CD itself is also made of recycled paper, which is great in keeping in mind the ecological impact of packaging has on the world.

    Kosher or sea salt?
    Sea Salt

    Wine or cocktails?
    Wine all the way!!!

    Proscuitto or Spam?
    Proscuitto

Who is your favourite Iron Chef?
It is a hard pick, but I think Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto because he is the only to be on both Iron Chef Japan and America

What is your favourite thing to smoke?
    Perhaps bacon in food.

What is your favourite music to listen to while cooking, besides Soul Food of course?
This is hard to answer as the music changes depending on which food I am cooking!!

What are your top 3 food experiences after Nyood and Kultura of course?
    1) The first time I had Kobe steak. It was New Years at Harbour Sixty, Toronto Canada. What a great steak... but "yikes" at the price! It was great having the kitchen on one side of us seeing all the action, while the skyline of Toronto was on the other side.

    2) Japonais in Chicago USA, letting the waiter select for my guests and myself. A great time and food... drinks before dinner in the bar below were wonderful!

    3) Charlot in Frankfurt, Germany. A little italian restaurant right beside the historic Opera house. It has a ton of character and is run by a family. I had never tried white truffle before on handmade linguine. It was a night of a lot of food, wine and cheese, and great company. On top of that all, I found out they were a Sicilian family... close to where my family originates from, making the experience that much more special. Afterwards we enjoyed lots of great liqueurs and beer (and for some of us Cigars) in the cigar lounge below.
