Good Day Atlanta | July 16 2010
I had a great shoot this morning with Mark Hayes from Good Day Atlanta. It was a lot of fun and as it turns out Mark finds his way to Toronto from time to time. This pic is me on set at the Fox studios here which is this beautiful place in the most lush part of Atlanta that I have seen yet. So beautiful. Banged it out and made a Curry Pear Slaw. More to come y'all (how ya like my Paula Deen impression?)
Anybody watch Mad Men??? Sal from that show was on just before me. In the green room just before the show I was trying to figure out who that Clark Kent looking dude was...turns out it was Sal. I saw the first episode of the show for the first time about a month ago and loved it. Totally didnt recognize him though. Im useless with pop culture.

Atlanta Classic | July 15 2010
Everyone I asked where to have dinner kept on mentioning this place called Buckhead Diner, so I went. Outside looks like a classic old school malt shop diner, inside it is setup like a luxury rail car sort of feel but bigger and more grand. The booths were very luxurious and everyone was dressed more for a business dinner than a diner vibe.
The guy who drove me to the spot (and everyone else) says I had to try the famous Chips with Blue Cheese. Well, that is exactly what it was - Chips and Blue cheese. Tasty but very rich and so southern in so many ways - big portion and quite heavy. I really just wanted to try it out and taste the legend firsthand.
This place is seriously busy, there was a 45 minute wait; luckily I was by myself and they snuck me in at the bar peaking into the kitchen. All kitchens everywhere are the same. The cooks looked and moved just like my teams at Nyood and Kultura, there is a very particular mannerism that is very hard to explain but its all in the way they move. I can spot a kitchen person on a beach in a pair of speedos just by the way they walk and carry themselves. Its a thing for sure.
It was good to see what they were doing and I was that guy taking pics of my food and the place so that I could share it with you here.
Tomorrow is the Ice Cream Truck and my shoot on Good Day Atlanta, the big morning show here. Look out for more Atlanta posts. This is only the beginning.

Soul Food Spotlight - Lakyn | July 12 2010
(pictured L to R): Carla, Lakyn (rhymes with Bacon - I HAVE to love that)
The Soul Food Spotlights has featured a lot of interesting people since I started doing it a while back. Today's feature is about Lakyn. Lakyn is 4 years old and already loves cooking. She really reminds me of myself at that age, totally into watching everything happening in the kitchen. She asks her mom, Carla, if she is going to "cook like Roger" when she is preparing dinner. Lakyn, this one is for you. Have a great day and remember...food is love.

I changed my profile pic on Twitter and Facebook today.
The Executive Producer of Everyday Exotic hated my last picture. So Al, this is for you...hope you like this one.
This photo is a sneak peak from none other than the man himself, Steve Carty.
